ABOUT

WHAT we do

The MM Robinson Drumline started 5 years ago as small group of students who met in the cafeteria and practiced on drum pads. Today, the drumline has grown to include over 30 members and is scheduled to perform over 30 times this season. These include performances within the school, the school board, the community and Southern Ontario. We have performed at the Ontario Music Educators Association Conference, the Olympic Torch Relay in Hamilton, the Toronto Rock Home Opener at the ACC and on Breakfast Television. These landmark events give our students the opportunity to promote marching percussion as an emerging activity throughout Ontario.

The M.M. Robinson Drumline is not funded by the school board and so all funding is raised directly by the members. In order to allow the program to grow we are seeking corporate sponsorship. All funding will go towards the purchase new equipment so that more students can be involved. The costs of these instruments vary. A new snare drum costs approximately $800 while a Marimba can cost $3000 to $12 000 depending on the quality.
